I’m Pranav! I’m a Founding Member of Technical Staff at the Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company - we raised 15M from Nat Friedman, Anthropic, and Emergence! I work on ML infrastructure, model evaluations, and benchmarks.
I studied computer science at the ANU under the Bachelor of Philosophy (PhB), where I graduated with First Class Honours (88 WAM, 6.75/7 GPA). My honours project was in machine learning optimisation under Dylan Campbell (ANU) and Joao Henriques (Oxford).
My most recent adventures the past year have been:
- Doing alignment research at Oxford where I looked at steering vectors for open source models.
- SWE Baselining for METR and looking at model evaluations under UK AISI
- Finishing up my honours project w/ ANU and Oxford at university
- Moving to London to do Entrepreneurs First
- Relocating to San Francisco to join AIUC as their first engineering hire.
Amongst other things, I’ve worked as a quantitative developer intern at IMC Trading and did machine learning research at CSIRO. I’ve published a paper on Vision Transformers, which won Best Paper Runner Up at DICTA. I’m also generally interested in computer science and machine learning stuff, such as algorithmic programming, systems and architecture, and science of DL.
Check out my research and my blog if you’re interested! If you’d like to chat, you can book a meeting with me here.
